BSC gives gifts to families in need during holiday season

Bainbridge State College gathered for its annual Holiday Brunch on Wednesday, Dec. 6, and wrapped gifts for two families they adopted for the holiday season.
Each year for the holidays, Bainbridge State College employees donate items and monetarily to provide gifts for children.
Katie Spooner headed up the efforts this year and last year—and has found the experience to be beneficial for BSC employees and the adopted families.
“This experience has had an impact on everyone involved—even our children,” she said. “Sometimes we forget what the holiday season is all about. We run around spending hundreds of dollars on our children and buying them things they really don’t need.
With this project, we have children asking for simple items and things that they do need, such as a green teddy bear, blankets and clothes. It has taught us to be thankful for what we have and realize that in our small town there are kids who are in need and not just want of items on Christmas morning.”
