Deloris Pitts Green

Mrs. Deloris Pitts Green, age 82, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee, Florida. Services for Mrs. Green will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Marty Brock will be officiating. Interment will follow in Attapulgus Cemetery. Phillip Martin, Joe Kimbrel, Andrew Kimbrel, Bobby Richardson, Steve Richardson, and Jamie Green will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, at Cox Funeral Home.

Deloris Pitts Green was born April 3, 1935 to James Wesley Pitts and Lois Carroll Pitts Applewhite. She married the love of her life, R L Green. She and Mr. Green have been married for 68 years. Deloris worked for the Decatur County School System as the secretary of Lillian E. Williams Elementary School. She loved to play the piano and served as pianist for the Attapulgus Baptist Church, where she was a member, of many years. Deloris loved to shop. She was a good cook. Deloris enjoyed planning school reunions for many of the classes that graduated from Attapulgus High School. Deloris Green will be sorely missed by the many friends and family that she loved so very much.

Deloris Green is survived by her husband, R L Green of Attapulgus; children, Michael Green of Attapulgus and Kathryn Green Turner of Quincy, Florida; grandchildren, Melissa Turner Martin, Jamie Green, Jennifer Kimbrel and husband Joe, and Megan Green; 6 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Lamar Green.
