July 30, 1955 – February 10, 2018

Michael E. “Mike” Putnal, 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018.

The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Rickey Hewett, Frank Gibson, Buz Livingston, Tim Sims, Mike McComb, Clint Putnal, J.W. Putnal and Franklin Gunderman will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Michael Edward Putnal was born July 30, 1955 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Joseph W. and Carolyn Ward Putnal. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1973, and member of First Baptist Church. Mike retired from Amoco Fabrics and Fibers.

Mike loved to read, hunt and fish. Most any given day, his schedule included working and fishing. His favorite sidekick on any adventure was Haska, his beloved dog. Mike grew up in a family that valued each other and he shared that love for family with his girls. He did everything he could to make sure each family member felt cared for and had every need met. Mike’s girls and grands were “the catch of his life”.

Survivors include his daughters, Glee Putnal Powell of Bainbridge, GA and Michael Putnal Singletary and her husband, Jody, of Whigham, GA; his grandchildren, Chloe, Bree, Will, Marley, Drew and Eden; his mother, Carolyn Putnal Phillips; his siblings, Joe & Patty Putnal, Gary & Cindy Putnal, Paula & Jody Grollman, and Gina & Tim Griffin; and his dog, Haska. Mike was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Putnal, Sr.; and his brother, Keith D. Putnal.

  2. Michael, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my daddy when he was 58. They were both to young to leave us. I know it was God’s plan all along, but we sure will miss their presence. There are no words I can say to console you or make it better. God and time will lessen the hurt. I am here if you ever need to talk or cry or whatever. Just get tbrough it all one day at a time.
