Darlene Dillard Cloud, 72, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Bostick and Rev. Lloyd Markham officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Chuck Enfinger, B.J. Morgan, Reid Jones, Mike McComb, Jesse Lee Hurley and James Hurley serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Ann Darlene Dillard was born October 2, 1945 in Lakeland, FL, the daughter of George Wallace Dillard and Ruth Nunnery Dillard. She married Tim McCoy Cloud in 1961 and made her home in Bainbridge. She regularly attended Potter’s House and Solid Rock Church.

Her caring spirit led her to work with students in Decatur County with special needs and as a hospice volunteer. Darlene was a people person who enjoyed life and staying busy. She spent most of her time giving to others. Her dogs were her constant companions. Darlene loved to sing, especially the old church hymns and regularly volunteered at nursing homes in the surrounding area.

Survivors include her children, Darlene Cecile Conner of Tifton, Ann Patrice Bostick and her husband, Charles, of Bainbridge, Carrie Cloud Ward and her husband, Robert Miranda of Houston, TX, Tim McCoy Cloud, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Dallas, TX; her brother, Danny Dillard and his wife, Connie, of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Crystal, Jessica, Shannon, Taylor and Faith; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Haylee, Andon, Natilee, Allison, Johanna and Cameron. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Cloud, Sr.; her brother, Donald Vincent Spooner; and her grandson, Josh.

  4. For many years, this wonderfully caring and compassionate lady led Children’s church. Most of my fondest memories are illuminated with her smiling presence. There just aren’t the word’s to express the deep loss the world just took. As we know though…our loss is His gain.
