Bonnie Alton Harrison, 87, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Bainbridge GA with Rev. Heath Kahlbau officiating. Private interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Mr. Harrison’s grandsons, nephew and a dear family friend serving as active pallbearers. Members of the Penny Lambert Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Bonnie Alton Harrison was born in Grady County, GA, the son of Miles E. Harrison and Pency Marie Jones Harrison. Bonnie was a graduate of Cairo High School and worked for many years at Engelhard in Attapulgus. He retired as a Rural Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service. He was an active member, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church, Bainbridge.

Bonnie will be remembered for his gentle spirit. He never met a stranger and had a passion for sharing Christ with the world. Not only could he share a message from John 14 in an instant, he let his actions and activities in our community serve as a witness of the Gospel. He was active in Prison Ministry, the work of the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital for many years. Bainbridge is a brighter place because of Bonnie Harrison.

Survivors include his wife of almost 64 years, Carolyn Knight Harrison; his children, Joy Harrison Forrester of Bainbridge, GA and Bob Harrison of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren, Wesley and Christy Ingram, Robert Charles and Jessica Harrison and Cristina and Bryan Dubar; his great-grandchildren, Landen, Kolten, Isabella, Logan and Isaac; and his sister, Christine Hammock. Bonnie was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Robert E. Harrison and Charles Harrison.
