Rev. Robert Lee Mott, Jr.

The Rev. Robert (Bob) Lee Mott, Jr., age 86, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at Camilla Gardens of Life Care Center, in Thomasville, Georgia. Services for Rev. Mott will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14, at New Fountainhead Baptist Church. The Rev. Marty Brock and Mr. Brannon Brock will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held in New Fountainhead Cemetery.

Robert (Bob) Lee Mott, Jr. was born June 25, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Robert Lee Mott and Mary Leatha Sasser Mott. Both have preceded Bob in death. Bob has served as a Southern Baptist pastor for over 60 years. He married the love of his life, Mary Frances Hayworth Mott, on January 31, 1959. They have loved each other and served together for 59 years. He and his loving wife served as missionaries in the Panama Canal Zone. Serving primarily in San Paulo, Brazil. Beginning at the age of 13, Rev. Mott studied organ at Florida State University. He was a lifelong member of the American Guild of Organist. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge. Musician, minister, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob Mott will be greatly missed by the family and friends he loved so very much.

Robert (Bob) Lee Mott, Jr. is survived by his wife, Frances Hayworth Mott of Thomasville and children, Bethany Fai Mott Brock of Thomasville and Robert L. Mott, III and wife, Jennifer of Spring Hill, Florida. Pawpaw deeply loved his grandchildren, Brannon Brock, Brittany Brock Tryon, Christopher Mott, Candace Mott, Jacob Mott, and Riley Mott and great-grandchildren, Harrison Brock, Reagan Tryon, Silas Brock, Arlaina Tryon, Lukas Brock, and Everett Brock. Bob Mott also has several nieces and nephews.
