Humane Society invites community to annual 5k

The Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society would like to invite the community to The 5th Annual Race to Rescue 5K & 1 Mile Dog Jog on Saturday, January, 20.

The race event allows animal lovers of all mobile abilities, both human and canine, to come together for a morning of physical fitness and fur-friend fellowship. With the support of generous sponsors and race participants, our community is able to help financially fund the non-profit Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society and their mission in “helping the helpless”. Thanks to community support, the event continues to grow more successful each year.

The BDCHS is an organization vital to the health and safety of both citizens and companion animals alike. Their care and compassion goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. From providing spay and neuter assistance, educating our community on animal issues, reuniting displaced pets with their owners, and rescuing abandoned or abused animals, the BDCHS protects both people and pets in more ways than one. This event is a way for the community to show their approving support for an organization that depends significantly on the financial contributions of benevolent citizens and businesses.

The race event will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00AM at the Earle May Boat Basin Nature Trail in Bainbridge, Georgia. Participants of all ages and skill levels, both human and canine, are encouraged to join.
