Gracie Norris

Mrs. Gracie Norris, age 82, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at her home in Quitman, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Norris will be held at 3:00, February 3, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Marty Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery #2. Tyler Breeden, Eduardo Garcia, Austin Cook, Zane Griffin, Bryan Garcia, and Christopher Griffin will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00.

Gracie Sadler was born May 23, 1935, in Pelham, Georgia, to Elisha Sadler and Katie Bell Lashley Sadler. Gracie married George Allen Norris. They have been married 65 years. She and George raised a large family. Gracie was the mother of 10. Mr. and Mrs. Norris attended Ousley Baptist Church. Gracie loved to sing and listen to music on the radio. She liked birds. Her family said she was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. Gracie Sadler Norris will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband, George Alvin Norris of Quitman; children, Katie Norris, Sue Vick (Theodore), Vena Griffin (Carlton), Glenda Norris (John), all of Quitman, Stanley Norris (Carol) of Valdosta, Georgia, Mark Norris (Becky) of Lake Park, Georgia, James Norris of Lakeland, Georgia, and Jerry Norris (Nancy) of Valdosta. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jean Evans (Benjamin) and brother, Coy Sadler (Judy) of Macon, Georgia. Gracie leaves 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Lashley, twin sister, Lacie Sadler, brothers, Tommy, J. D., and James Sadler, and sons, Randy Norris and George Watson Norris.
