Mrs. Elva Marie Johnson Milligan, age 49, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Milligan will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Marie was born February 6, 1969 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her parents, William Maurice Johnson and Barbara Ann Brown Chaney, have preceded her in death. Marie married the love of her life, Mark Wayne Milligan. Marie was a happy, fun-loving person. She was enjoying living at Lake Seminole. She loved to fish. The family has wonderful memories remembering times together fishing. A caring and giving person, she deeply loved her animals. Marie cherished her family. Marie Milligan will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Marie Johnson Milligan is survived by her husband, Mark Wayne Milligan; brothers and sisters, Crystal Godwin, Chris Chaney, Clyde Johnson, Emily Young, Julia Johnson, and Tracey O’Neal; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dana Chaney Roberts.
