W. L. Cook, Sr.

January 5, 1929 – June 19, 2018

W. L. Cook, Sr. 89, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the men of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church.

W. L. was born January 5, 1929 in Colquitt, GA, the son of Billy Cook and Sallie Mims Cook. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a farmer and cabinet maker. He was a member of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, Joann Holley (Roger) of Bainbridge, GA, W. L. Cook, Jr. of Donalsonville, GA, Patricia L. Cook of Tallahassee, FL, and Faye Logue (Randel) of Climax, GA; his 12 grandchildren; and his 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Chason Cook, his sons, Terry Wayne Cook and Timmy Lee Cook; and his sister, Inez Heard.
