City of Bainbridge Receives DCA Grant and GEFA Financing

Senator Dean Burke (R – Bainbridge) recently announced that the City of Bainbridge has been awarded funding through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program from the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) along with a Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) loan from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA).

“I want to commend DCA and GEFA for awarding funding to the City of Bainbridge for improvements to existing infrastructure,” said. Sen. Burke. “I want to also recognize the work of our local elected officials because without their collaboration with these agencies this funding wouldn’t have been awarded. These projects will help our local government address street improvements while ensuring our environmental infrastructure is updated. Upgrades such as these drive economic development and I look forward to securing additional funding for projects in the City of Bainbridge.”

Under DCA, the CDBG program “is available to eligible local governments through a competitive grant program”. The City of Bainbridge will receive $538,301 for drainage/street improvements. The City of Bainbridge will receive a $1,055,000 CWSRF conservation loan to address the rehabilitation of five pumps and the installation of new gravity sewer lines.
