Bill Michael Lewis was born December 14, 1955 in Donalsonville, GA, the son of John and Nancy Carter Lewis. He went to Miller County High School and worked with Brinson Farm Supply. Bill married Dawn Bonneau and they made their home in Brinson. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Bill was a Christian first. He met no strangers and was everyone’s friend. His friendly personality and endless well of jokes drew you in and you soon discovered Bill was not only lovable but loyal. He was well respected in every circle from the creek to the White House. He enjoyed turkey and quail hunting but loved watching the dogs work even more. One thing about Bill Lewis, if he said it, you could bank on it.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dawn Lewis; his children, Alyssa Marshall and her husband, Detera, of Tifton, GA, Blake Lewis and his wife, Leslie, of Wilmington, NC and Nancy Kempton of Panama City, FL; his grandchildren, Dylan, Courtney and Peyton; and his siblings, Ruth Merritt of Pelham, GA, and Margie Lewis, John App Lewis, Jr. and Glenda Bailey all of Colquitt, GA. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Stout and Ann Huntzinger.
