Hubert C. Dodson, 95, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewitt Phillips officiating. A private interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. Memorial Donations may be made to West Bainbridge Baptist Church Food Bank, P.O. Box 356, Bainbridge, GA 39818.

Hubert C. Dodson was born July 14, 1923 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Carlton Ray and Sudie Irene Elders Dodson. After graduating High School, Hubert served as a Merchant Marine in WW II. He went on to make a career in residential construction and could even build a fish scaler or two. When Hubert wasn’t fishing, he was visiting with friends telling a tale about the big ones he caught or on the dance floor at Pelham Country Jamboree.

Survivors include his children Kenneth Dodson, and his wife, Linda, and Carolyn D. Reynolds, and her husband, Roy, all of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Brian & Teresa Dodson, Kevin Dodson & Rhonda Manley, Laci & Danny Moore, and Colby Dodson; and his great-grandchildren, Reese, Bowen, Ray, Chloe, Quinn, Chase, Devin, and Justin. In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Glover Dodson; his son, Rufus I. Dodson; and his siblings, Tom Dodson, Walter Dodson, Louise Musslewhite, Margarite Sheffer, and Betty Youngblood Stafford.

  1. What a great couple Mr. Dodson and Ms. Juanita were. They are in heaven now dancing in heaven. Know Penny is with them. Blessed to have known them.

  2. So sorry to hear of Huberts passing. I remember those stories he told while sitting up at Henry Olivents Tires on Scott St. Remember having Linda and Kenneth as neighbors also and Laci and my Heather and Kobi and Christy often playing together. Precious Memories yes. Will keep all of you in my prayers. Love you all.
