James David Hampton

James David Hampton (formerly of Monticello, Indiana) passed on Monday, April 15, 2019 where he was residing in Brinson, Georgia. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on October 23, 1951 to William Jesse Hampton, Sr. and Lois Maxine Ray Hampton. James was a commercial and residential painting contractor by trade. Among his hobbies were fishing, woodworking, painting saw blades and wooden plaques. He also enjoyed watching westerns and historical documentaries. In his youth, he held a record for speed of pitching baseball.

James will be greatly missed by his daughters: Kaley Alysse Rose Hampton and Jayme Elaine Hampton; brothers: William Jesse Hampton, Jr. (Sandy Kitterman Hampton), and Ronald Duane Hampton (Judy Wann Hampton); sisters: Darlene Arlene Hampton Combs (Floyd Combs), and Peggy Hampton Honeycutt; as well as five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. James was predeceased by one sister, Marlene Irene Hampton Hall and two brothers; Roamey Maynard Hampton and Daniel Steven Hampton.

A private service was held by family and they request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
