Margie Faye Brownlow

Margie Faye Brownlow, age 71, passed away early Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Archbold Hospital, Thomasville, Georgia. Services for Margie will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 11, Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Carl Harrell and Rev. Andrew Donaldson will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Marco Rojo, Josh Lashley, Darrell Griffin, Keith Griffin, Daniel Lashley, and Stephen Wright will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends before the service, starting at 9:30 am.

Margie was born February 11, 1948 in Cairo, Georgia. Her parents, Roy Albert Merritt and Willie Mae Wimberly Merritt, have both preceded her in death. December 30, 1996, Margie married Warren Brownlow. Margie was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class; where she served as the secretary. Margie was known for her wonderful cooking. She worked for over 20 years as the Kitchen Supervisor for Northside Elementary School, worked as a Kitchen Specialist at Glen Mor Nursing Home, and served as a Nutrition Specialist at Archbold Hospital. After her retirement, she served her wonderful food at Margie’s Country Bakery. Margie loved to sing. She deeply loved her family and was always there with her beautiful smile. Mostly, and most importantly, she knew and loved her Lord and Savior. Margie Brownlow will be sorely missed by the family she loved so dearly and her many, many friends.

Margie Faye Brownlow is survived by her husband, Warren Brownlow of Cairo; sons, Rodney Lashley and wife, Ashley of Cairo and James Lashley and wife, Jean of Thomasville; siblings, Gail Lee (Roger), Shirley Ann Smith (Donnie), Randy Merritt (Sylvia), Helen Chancey, and Lynn Hale (Todd); grandchildren, Amanda Rojo, Kristen Lashley, April Lashley, and Daniel Lashley; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha Johnson, Inez Merritt, Janice McKown, and Rita Merritt; and brothers Steve Merritt, James Merritt, Gene Merritt, and Phillip Glenn Merritt.
