Marvin Dillard Blevins was born February 20, 1938 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of William B. and Minnie Ward Blevins. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Marvin married Martha Henry Davis and they made their home in Decatur County. Marvin worked as a maintenance supervisor at Amoco Fabrics until his retirement.

Sometimes God makes good ol’ country boys and Marvin Blevins was one of those. He loved all things outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening and of course a fish fry. If he decided to leave Decatur County, you could bet he was headed to the North Georgia Mountains. Marvin had a quiet spirit and was often reserved, taking in everything going on. His family and friends would tell a different story noting how he loved to sit and chat about any and every thing. If you asked Marvin who hung the moon, his response would by “My grandchildren of course”.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Henry Blevins; his children, Travis Marvin Blevins and his wife, Tanyah, and Kimberly Blevins Smith and her husband, Teddy, all of Brinson; his siblings, June & Ferris Sandlin and Bobby & Michelle Blevins, also of Brinson; and his grandchildren, Brianna Rose, MaHaylee Marie and Macy Lynn. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Granade.
